vwe internet has created its own fun and easy to use Channel Manager, adapted from the popular EggDrop Robot originally written by Robey Pointer. Based on the very latest issue of the original EggDrop source code, Channel Manager has been extensively and specially modified to improve the Robot's stability, security and functionality. Channel Manager features an array of new and improved commands coupled to a fully integrated online help system, making our Robot much easier to understand and more exciting to use. We have removed unnecessary and insecure components without spoiling the central purpose of sensibly managing IRC Channels and having fun at the same time. :)

Our version comes pre-compiled and is launched for you onto our own server, irc.vwe.net, so there is no need to understand 'C', 'TCL' or any of the associated UNIX Commands. All you need to do is use your normal IRC program to join our Server, DCC the Channel Manager and then move it onto the Server and Channels of your choice.

All commands are issued through the party line of the program itself, and that includes new commands like +SERVER and -SERVER, which means that you do not need to edit or understand the configuration file. The program does it all for you, but you retain the choice.

Practically all of the commands have been improved and many new features have been added. There are completely new online help files for each command as well as special features on how to get started. We designed it so that users at all levels can understand and get the maximum out of the program. There is also a complete instruction manual on this Web Site, and you can download the manual either from this Site or from the Program itself using the HANDBOOK command. It is available in two forms, Microsoft Word Format (Windows self extracting archive) or Adobe Acrobat PDF Format.

vwe internet Channel Manager comes complete with online support for whatever you need, and the Program will be constantly upgraded and improved for you. These upgrades will not interrupt your service and neither will we enter your party line. The whole process is automatic and when an upgrade occurs, the process lodges a NOTE with the Bot Owner informing them of the upgrade. There is a special owner only command, UPGRADE, which lists all the changes that have been introduced.

You can report technical difficulties by email and we will resolve them for you. You can also request new features and modification, and where feasible we will code them for you. If you have operational difficulties, our Channel Manager Administrator will be pleased to come online and join your channel to help if required.

vwe internet supports sensible management of IRC Channels, but is mindful that EggDrop in its original format can be used for hostile purposes and can link with other EggDrops that have hostile intentions. For this reason we have removed certain network features. It is not possible to link our Program onto any public BotNet, but there is a special command BOTNET which automatically links you into vwe internet's own private BotNet. Users cannot Telnet into the program, and will have no direct access to any of the program or associated files, other than through the Robot's commands.

vwe internet will not involve itself in ANY channel politics or personal disputes between users. However we are strictly opposed to hostility on IRC and will expect you to run your Program in accordance with any rules imposed by individual servers that you connect to. You can test this program right now, and at no charge. A trial version called 'ChanMan' is currently online on irc.vwe.net on channels #ChanMan1 and #ChanMan2.

If you join our Server and any of those Channels, simply type:

/msg ChanMan test [your chosen password]

You will automatically be instated as a temporary Owner with top level privileges. (This feature is only available in the Test Version). You can then use your password to enter the Party Line and try almost everything out. Some critical commands such as DIE, LOGS, RESTART, +SERVER, JUMP, BOTNET, and +CHAN have been disabled for obvious reasons.
